The Wake Up Call vs Real-life

More news at 11

First of all I want to send my apologies to everyone who was expecting some Hetch chapters in Hugi 23, because there weren't any. In this issue there are just two chapters. It's not as many as I would have liked due to time limits (writing one chapter after the Hugi deadline) it's better than nothing.

After the events of 11th September The WakeUp Call story seemed unimportant and had far too many parallels between them. The reports of bombs, terrorists and stewardesses being stabbed and used as bait in order to open the cockpit door of the airplanes was particularly gruesome. It has affected my approach to the story, how I see the characters and what the possible ending should be.

Like I said in a previous Hetch article, a writer can get too attached to his/her character creations. When the inevitable point in the story is reached when a character's life comes to an end, it is a sad moment, but it still needs to happen.

To be continued...

I will continue the story for as long as I feel I need to. At the moment there are probably 4 more chapters (possibly 6) left in the storyline. One of the most difficult tasks will be to explain all those unresolved events which eagle-eyed readers (like Seven and JKL) have spotted so far. Hopefully this can be written during the course of the next 2 or 3 chapters as the main character, Hetch, uncovers the clues and gains more information.

To be honest, I'm really surprised that it has already reached the 21st chapter. Those two years of writing it have passed very quickly and the characters are still strong in my mind (unlike some of the story's details).

The end.

I plan to release the entire story in one 'e-book' as soon as the last chapter has been written. This will be a re-edited version of all the chapters (possibly with a few extra details thrown in). It will probably take the format of either a zip'd collection of html pages and/or a single PDF file

Until then, I hope you enjoy the new chapters in this issue of Hugi.

Happy reading...
